Tree falls on house in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 1960s

Tree down at 2809 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. We intially thought it was in the 1950s but we found photos (added at the bottom) showing the tree was standing in February 1963. Very likely our relative is Harold Gunderson on the left- Harold is Arden Gunderson's brother (Arden owned the house). We are thinking the other person is the neighbor whose house the tree fell into. 2811 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. Guessing this is from a storm. We also added a photo of another possible neighbor.

Man on right unknown, neighbor?

Northern Pacific train derailment, boat on St. Croix River, Almelund, Minnesota

There are two photos on this post from our grandma's photo book or possibly our great grandmother's.
They lived in Almelund, Minnesota. The first photo with boat is likely on the St. Croix River.
The second photo is of a train derailment, Northern Pacific, likely in Almelund, MN as well.

Sun Viking Cruise Ship, September 1973

This photo is labeled "Sun Viking 9-1973". Our relative Arden Gunderson is third up from the right. We do not recognize anyone else in the photo.  To see more photos from the cruise ship, click here.

PFC Harlan Danielson, Dawson, Minnesota, 1948

These are photos from PFC Harlan Danielson's funeral in Dawson, Minnesota. Harlan was born in Dawson, MN and was KIA in WWII. This service took place August 20, 1948. At the bottom is his memorial card and his application for a military headstone. We are sharing these for several reasons, the first being to not forgot Harlan and his service, the second being there are many people in the photos from Dawson and surrounding areas- he had family (aunts, cousins, uncles, etc.) in Clarkfield. The names listed on his memorial card are: Rev. H. E. Everson, Melvin Vick, Waldo Holmquist, Everett Dahl, Virgil Jacobson, Art Engholm, Raymond Rock, Verniw Pearson, Conrad Hofseth, John Fjoseide, Randolph Thompson, Harry Sather, Ruben Vane, James Bakken, Robert Holmquist, Albert Westby, Douglas Miller, Dewey Thompson, Keith Nelson, Russell Danielson, Elwood Throndrud.

Unknown gentleman, lady, and baby. April 1968. Likely Minneapolis, MN.

We have not a clue to who these folks might be. They were from Arden Gunderson's slides, so friends of Arden's from when he lived in South Minneapolis. Date on photos are April 1968.

Veterinarian photos from Los Angeles, California, 1973-1974

These are photos we acquired from a family friend, Donna den Boer, who was a veterinarian in Minneapolis, MN most of her life. These photos, however, were taken when she lived in California. The dates on the photos range from October and November 1973 to November 1974. We have no clue who the others in the photos are. We believe these are from her time at the Marion Davies Clinic in Los Angeles, California.
Donna would often tell stories about her times at the U of MN and being the only female in her class. She never turned an animal away. Donna did not marry, have children, or siblings (she was an only child raised by her father and grandparents)- her life was dedicated to animals. Why are we talking so much about her? So her memory can live on. To read more about her adventures, follow this link.
